[TECH TIP] Troubleshooting Lexmark Error Codes

It’s pretty inevitable that office equipment will run into technical and software issues at some point during its lifespan. Error codes can range from minor issues that phone support can do a quick fix with you or to major issues where a technician would need to be onsite to correct. When it comes to simple phone technical support, we are always here to help, and often have a resolution within 90 minutes. And if, for whatever reason the error code may be, we will send out the technician for service within a timely manner. Below are some common Lexmark office equipment error codes we receive phone calls for to help our customers that can be resolved with simple instruction.

FIRMWARE 900

The best approach to correct this error is to simply cancel the print job on your PC, MAC or other and then reboot the equipment. Should the error code continue show up, give us a call at 604-574-8623

This indicates that there is an error with the black toner density. The simple fix is to re-set the black toner (take it out and put it back in) and then reboot the system. This will correct that error code.

PAPER EMPTY ERRORS

When you get this and the paper tray is full, then it is likely looking for the correct paper. Because paper type is important for proper function and to reduce the amount of times it jams or how the toner fuses to the paper, effecting quality printing. Refer to your user manual and or call us to make sure you are using the correct paper.

MAINTENANCE CODES

While this are important codes when they appear, they are not urgent and are not of too much concern. The following codes are ones that you should simply let us know when they happen:

When to Call us Immediately

It is a general rule that you should call us when there are error codes, even for the simple things. It allows us to monitor your equipment so that we can maintain the integrity of the machine, often creating a better functioning office equipment and extending the life of it. We do our best to keep your machine at a 95% uptime during the duration of your work with us, and we provide service to stay true to it.
